Fairfield is located along the coast of Long Island Sound. Incorporated in 1639, it has a population of around 62,000. Fairfield is a great place for outdoor recreation, with numerous beaches, parks, walking trails, and the Audubon Nature Reserve. Downtown also boasts a lot of restaurants, unique shops, a theater, and a Town Green with outdoor concerts. Fairfield is also home to two universities- Fairfield University, which has the Quick Center for the Arts, and Sacred Heart University.
