Don't miss out on an unforgettable night of live music!

The North County Band is set to perform at The Danbury Palace Theatre on Saturday, April 26, and you won't want to miss their dynamic performance.

This powerhouse group blends the songwriting prowess of Chicago-born Scott Smith with the sensational fiddle skills of Texas native Cat Lines — joined by some of Connecticut's most accomplished musicians. Together, they deliver a sound that's fresh, authentic, and impossible to resist.

Award-Winning Talent

  • Twice nominated as "Country Act of the Year" by the New England Music Awards
  • Recognized as "Rising Stars of Connecticut"

From Grassroots to Rising Stars

The North County Band is the creative result of the collaboration between singer-songwriter Scott Smith and fiddle sensation Cat Lines. By teaming up with some of Connecticut's most seasoned musicians, they’ve crafted a unique signature sound that captures the heart of country and Americana fans alike.

Their debut EP, "Connecticut", is a heartfelt grassroots effort featuring songs about the Nutmeg State, themes of isolation, the challenges of the modern era, and the power of family. This release catapulted the band into a nine-state, 115-date tour, earning them two New England Music Award nominations.

New Music on the Horizon

Wasting no time, the band has partnered with renowned music producer David Morgan of The Music Shed Studios to create their eagerly anticipated sophomore album, "Lay it on the Line" — a fan-funded LP that is currently in development.

Participating artists include Traé Brooks, Faustin Adeniran, and Janice Mauro. This exhibition invites viewers to contemplate the complexities of identity, vulnerability, and the figure as a site of both personal and universal expression, reinforcing the idea that this is not only an act of introspection but also a profound statement of resistance and survival. Through the use of contrasting materials and methods, these artists create works that challenge conventional boundaries, inviting a deeper engagement with the physical and emotional aspects of the human experience. In The Now, named for a thought-provoking quote by poet, philosopher, and activist Audre Lorde , whose writing has long been a catalyst for conversations on identity, empowerment, and social justice. “Life is very short and what we have to do must be done in the now.” The exhibit runs from March 30 to May 10. Gallery hours: Thursday through Saturday, 12 to 4 PM and by appointment. www.metroartstudios.org/crowngallery Curvilinear: Featured Artist Deborah Loeb Bohren Opening Reception: Sunday, March 30, 1 to 3 PM Metro Art Studios is delighted to have an exhibit of the work of Deborah Loeb Bohren as Featured Artist, starting March 30. Curvilinear explores how abstraction in photography can transcend literal representation, offering a deeper, more intuitive experience of form, movement, and space. Lines and curves — fundamental elements in abstract art — shape how we perceive form, movement, and emotion. In Curvilinear, they serve as a bridge between reality and interpretation, distilling the essence of objects and architecture into their purest visual forms. Lines create structure, direction, and rhythm, while curves introduce fluidity, tension, and grace. Together, they transform everyday scenes into dynamic compositions, revealing hidden harmonies and geometric beauty. The exhibit runs from March 30 to May 10. Gallery hours: Thursday through Saturday, 12 to 4 PM and by appointment. www.metroartstudios.org/crowngallery
