HedgeFun in Stamford Downtown: Art in Public Places- 16 Topiaries Now on Display
HedgeFun in Stamford Downtown is a whimsical outdoor sculpture exhibit, which will transform Downtown with adorable animal topiaries on display this summer. The Stamford Downtown Special Services District has installed 16 animal topiaries on the streets and parks of the Downtown. The topiaries are on display for enjoyment by area residents and visitors from now through September, 2022.
This is the 29th annual sculpture exhibit produced by the Stamford Downtown Special Service District, which is an organization responsible for managing and promoting Stamford Downtown as the region's destination for dining, entertainment, retail, housing and education.
As fun as they are during the daylight, the HedgeFun animals also light up at night with solar lights! The sculptures are composed of steel frames interwoven with artificial boxwood and solar lights. It took 3,800 feet of round rod steel, 260 square feet of square tubing,1,312 square feet of boxwood, 4,896 square feet of solar lights and 18,000 zip ties to construct these magnificent topiaries.
Upon the conclusion of HedgeFun in Stamford Downtown, the topiaries will be sold, with a portion of the proceeds used to plant trees in Stamford Downtown and add to the urban forest. Each topiary is sponsored by a business or organization.

Sandy Hook, CT – April 2025 – Spring has arrived in spectacular fashion at Aquila’s Nest Vineyards, where over 30,000 daffodils are now in full bloom across the vineyard’s rolling hills. Carefully planted between the grapevines last fall, these cheerful yellow blooms were placed one bulb at a time with a single goal in mind—to delight our guests with a magical springtime display. This floral showcase offers guests a uniquely immersive experience that blends nature’s beauty with the vineyard’s charm. “We envisioned a spring where guests could sip wine while surrounded by golden blooms,” said the team at Aquila’s Nest. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see that vision come to life—and even more exciting to know these fields will only grow more stunning as the daffodils multiply year after year.” This Sunday, guests attending our annual Egg Hunt will also get to enjoy the daffodil bloom in full effect. The event is almost sold out , and it’s one of the most whimsical ways to experience the vineyard’s springtime magic. To view the daffodil fields, guests must reserve outdoor seating or book one of the vineyard’s signature experiences, including: Igloo Spheres / Fairy Gazebos The Forbidden Fireplace Pergola with Fire Pits Fire Pit Circles Each reservation offers a beautiful view to this limited-time bloom—perfect for springtime celebrations, date nights, and unforgettable photo moments.
